Ya there is only a few of us left who still post frequently here. And some of us have gotten jobs so we don't post near as much because we don't have the time. Just sayin'.
Hamburgers on the grill tonight for me.

ohohoh....some of us have gotten JOBs!
I think a good portion of those who post had outside priorities before as well. (I know slayer has a RL job as well as rr).
and some people just .....moved to a different OT than this one---(guess we just arent as much fun over here...though we do get to talk about food )
getting some take out tonight (hubby has to go and fix someone's computer so we have to eat quick between when one job and the other).

gee we have that just about every thunderstorm that moves thru---wind gusts of 60mph..
no problem....wind gusts of 80mph...ok, now we need to think about moving stuff.
ah the thunderstorm is really a wonderful thing....not only can you get rain, sleet, hail, wind and tornadoes, but it also can sit idle and reek havoc for hours ....(not to mention inches of rain---sister said that one of the t-storms that moved thru her area dropped 4 inches of rain in about 2 hours!!)
good luck rr....hope it loses its strength before it gets to you.

Thanks cosy. The one difference is that the winds stay at a constant 40 to 60 miles per hour with gusts over and above that for many hours. We have had a lot of rain in the past 2 weeks so the ground is saturated which with evem tropical storm strength many trees could topple over. We can only hope for the best, but that only means some other poor souls may get the brunt. It is a lose, lose scenario.

I have been in thunderstorms, hurricanes and typhoons.
the typhoons I was part of in japan were no where as bad as any mid-level thunderstorm here (heck, half of the japanese people went on with daily life when they were in one--we even had a bad one during school, they sent the kids home during the WORST part of it ).
hurricanes are worse than those---and was in wilma.
Both ways you get a lot of rain, lots of wind and a good amount of damage.
so still hope things go well for you rr---could get bad, could just be a lot of rain (yeah, we dont need anymore of it either).....I will send you the arc plans

I grilled burgers on Friday night at my gf's. Made for a good time. And they were delicious. Yum.
You post "frequently"? Hmmm, okay, I'll allow it.
Question: DirecTV or Dish Network? Which one would you guys suggest? (And just get cable is not an option, not paying $65 a month for 25 channels)

oh, now that's a hard one (I used to work at a place that processed directv payments...)
having never been able to have or use those choices...I would have to look at the cost for each for what you want as well as the service charge to get it set up---
azzer is a more frequent poster than a lot of peeps who used to post here---/sigh
was never a fan of the 'grill', hate my food tasting like briquettes (or gas, lighter fluid, etc).....but it sounds like it was a good time.
monday is fish day (tuesday is garbage day so fishy parts can get removed from the premises)....

Dish start up cost is around $230 bucks where as DirecTV doesn't have a start up cost. Dish has cheaper plans, but DirecTV matches those prices for the first 2 years, probably for as long as I would have DirecTV... So I think I'm gonna go DirecTV since they appear they will be cheaper for the first 2 years, though in the long run (2+ years) Dish would be cheaper.
I love food on the grill. I'm just a novice at learning how to grill so Friday was my first time. Surprisingly very good.

first time grilling?, each summer here in Denmark, we grill a lot, on the beach, at mates houses, when the weather is good, danes are grilling, it's a fun and social thing to do, and the food taste awesome, nothing like briquettes, or gas or lighter fluid, that's only bad "grillers" who make it taste like that

well, then everything I have ever had grilled has been bad (this includes those 'fancy' restaurants--). Never liked grilled food, dont like burnt food--if its black its garbage (though that's the way my hubby likes his).
but that's just my opinion. (and highly doubtful it will ever change--would rather eat my food raw than have it grilled in any way).
and acorn season is upon us--our driveway looks like it should be out east with the hurricane clean up (we even have tree limbs in it as well)....hoping for a short season this year. Stepping on those acorns the wrong way can lead to a nasty sit down, or turned ankle. (good thing I dont actually own my driveway---).
ah well,
hope everyone out east is ok--

I didn't think ours tasted like briquettes either but then again I like eating stuff from the grill. And azzer, it was my first time grilling because my dad always did it. It was his thing and he didn't let anyone else grill.
Oh acorn season... Not a fan.
Well 2 more days till my first pay day. Will be nice to finally get a paycheck.

Well I am really glad Irene was only a tropical storm when it hit us. We lost our power at 11 AM Sunday morning and have been told it may be 3 to 5 days before we get it back. Yesterday at work we had no power but did manage to sell product the old fashion way with pen and paper and cash only. We have power at work today so I am able to get online while I am here.

I echo Cosy's sentiments RR, glad you are safe. Hope they get your power back asap.
Oh trust me, I'm expecting to have like 50%+ taken out from taxes, TRS, union pay etc. Just kinda what I'm figuring.

50?! wow you are a trusting sole (33% or so goes to fed and state, and another 10 or so to fica/ssi, and then you have union dues last union I was in took an extra month out for the first month--so double union dues the first month....that would leave about...30% or so ....though when I was in my union the first month I had a negative check ).....but just so you know what little to expect.
